Joe Rubinstein, Piper Hinson, and myself reunited to continue the fight that we started in my back yard years ago. Who won? Who lost? Who knows. This friendly fight is never ending.

HI. My beautiful and talented friend Samantha Cope has officially opened her store! It's called Sassi. It's full of cute, pretty, comfy girl clothes. And she let me model for her. You should REALLY check out her store at www.sassicollection.net.
Here are a few of the pieces from her collection that I modeled. Photos by Christina Scherer of Handsome Photography. CLICK on the pictures if you wanna make 'em bigger! With the release of Baz Luhrman's "The Great Gatsby" upon us, I thought it appropriate to share this timely shoot. These are tears from an editorial I did awhile back for Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine, entitled "Misty Romance". It was shot by photographer Dennis Owen. We were on a boat in long beach. The clothes were romantic, and the weather sure was misty. And I was excited to snag myself and my family copies from the Barnes & Nobel at The Grove. Who knows when I'll be able to find me in a book store again? Ooooh...that was so self reflective. Of course, being pictures of pictures, they aren't as fancy as the real deal. I just got to do a FUN shoot for a brand new store a friend of mine is opening. All female team, really great day. I loved the clothes. I want all of them. And I LOVE seeing my friends make excellent stuff happen! I can't WAIT to share pictures from the shoot! Until then, some behind the scenes selfies.
Some promotional wedding pics for 3 Hair Makeup Salon. A lot of my "wedding" looks pretty goofy and happy, and I'd like to think that someday when it happens for real, that's what it will be like. And I very much LOVE my one bridesmaid wearing black, and my groom wearing a black leather tie. Yes please.
Nope. Not married. But I did just get to do a wedding shoot for 3 Hair Makeup, shot by the happiest, sweetest person possibly ever invented - Mrs. Jessica Lee Thomas. She loves love and weddings. Which makes her the perfect wedding photo shoot photographer.
I got to play bride and bridesmaid, and had a great time being all fancy in a rose garden. Here are a few BTS shots. I look forward to getting to share the final products. Also, this is my third wedding shoot. I'm thinking I should have a shot of each wedding printed, framed real nice, and hung all side by side. Friends who visit my house can play the game of "this is super awkward...i had no idea this girl was married a lot". WOO!
I gots me a shiny, brand spakin' new commercial agency! I'm with L.A. Talent, ya'll, and I am super into them! So next time you see me selling stuff on the magical t.v. box machine, it will be thanks to them! Yeeehawww. HEY! I really like this whole blogging thing. The internet can be a lot of fun! Who knew (answer: everyone except me.)? I used to have another blog once upon a time, but I neglected it and hated it a lot. I think that probably has a lot to do with the fact that I was trying to write it in someone else's voice. I was trying to be the writer and the audience, AND I was trying to be someone I thought was cool. Cool, I am not. I'm nerdy and neurotic and overly enthusiastic and fun. Not that other person I was trying to make myself into. I guess the take away is that on the internet, much like in real life, things are much more fun when you are just YOURSELF.
OKAY. Enough of a model trying to think things. Here are some pictures. These were all shot with Josue Pena. He's obviously amazing. We've done a couple of shoots together. Hair is by Carolina Yasukawa, with the exception o This IS a Halloween Post! SO when I was first modeling, I did some kind of promo shoot thing for Salon Sessions in Pasadena. I think the gist of it was we do a bunch of avant guard hair stuff to update the books of the stylists at the salon, which they can use to show everyone how awesome they were (truthfully, they were really awesome at hair). I think it was maybe my second or third shoot ever. ANYWHO, the photographers, Joe Rubinstein and Joe Miller, were super nice, and we became friends AND myspace friends (we go THAT far back), and then it turned out Joe Rubinstein had this crazy place called The Compound in El Serreno, and he ended up renting me a room there (it was my first place in LA proper, when I flew the nest of Claremont). AND he became my boss at Polite in Public. So that was all unnecessary nonsense to let you know that the pictures I'm about to share with you were from a shoot I did with Joe Rubinstein. And also that they are OLD. It was a LONG TIME AGO. I had bangs, I lived at The Compound, and life was weird. He was working on a photography pet project that centered around fights. This one was a model fight. I fought Piper Hinson. She won. Also, in case you weren't clear, none of this is remotely real. It's all model fighting, and modeling things is all about being a representation of them (i.e., fake. Oh no...am I real girl?!?). SO PLEASE DON'T HAVE NIGHTMARES ON MY ACCOUNT! Don't scroll if you're squeamish about obviously fake violence. Once upon a time I shot this fall editorial with Jac and Belle for 80s purple. We shot overnight in long beach, and thanks to Jac, that was the night I fell in love with Jim Gaffigan. My life has truly never been the same. Hot pockets, you guys.
So, in honor of halloween coming up and all, here are some random pictures from that shoot of me being a creeper. Oh yeah, there is a fashion video some |
Author. That's me.Not really. Unless writing in diaries and day planners makes me an author. But hey, technically I am the author of this blog! That's pretty cool. Archives
